Community Health Data Scan
The Community Health Data Scan for Connecticut Has Moved!
As of May 25, 2011, CT Health will no longer host the Community Health Data Scan previously located at http://data.cthealth.org/.
After the Community Health Data Scan was published in March 2007, the foundation developed an independent website featuring notes, charts, and maps of community health indicators so that our grantees, partners and decision-makers could use this information to develop interventions, projects and budgets.
While our commitment to accessible, high quality community health data has not changed, we believe the Connecticut Commission on Health Equity (CHE) is the most appropriate partner to continue the work we started.
When one of our partners can do something better than the foundation, it is time to pass the baton. The Commission’s legislative mandate includes not only a specific objective to track progress on reducing racial and ethnic health disparities, but also the authority to collect and analyze data from all state agencies.
During this time of transition, CT Health will provide the Commission with technical assistance from one of the nation’s leading community health data experts, Larry Finison of Boston-based SigmaWorks. He and CCHE Executive Director Raja Staggers-Hakim will select the most appropriate community health indicators that will effectively track the state’s progress on decreasing disparate health outcomes.
For more information, please visit the Commission’s website or contact Raja Staggers-Hakim at raja.staggers-hakim@ct.gov or 860.297.3847.
