How Does Leadership Advance Health Equity?

October 20, 2011

At the Connecticut Health Foundation (CT Health), we believe strong leadership skills are critical to building the public will necessary to achieve health equity. Our Health Leadership Fellows program is designed to cultivate the leadership abilities within class members for this purpose.

On Tuesday, you heard from members of the 2012 Class about their hopes for the program. Today, the Principal Consultant to the program, Heidi Brooks, discusses the role of leadership in health equity. What really resonated with me (and, I should disclose, I’m a member of this year’s class!) was the idea of “there’s no big box to check off” when it comes to leadership. It’s something we’re always working on improving.
