“Having access to healthcare has an incredibly positive impact on children and families,” says Mary Pat C. Healy, executive director of the Bridgeport Child Advocacy Coalition (BCAC), a grantee of the Connecticut Health Foundation (CT Health), in this video interview.

BCAC, a coalition of individuals and organizations working toward the improved well being of children and families in the greater Bridgeport area, has worked on enrollment (among other things) for more than 20 years. Like CT Health, they’ve seized the opportunity that the Affordable Care Act (ACA) provides to advance their mission.

In this video, Mary Pat discusses BCAC’s HUSKY (the state’s Medicaid plan for kids) Collaborative, and how they’ll apply the success of that model to getting area families more access to better care.
