Learning About Leadership Presence with the Class of 2012 Health Leadership Fellows

March 22, 2012

What is leadership presence?

Simply, it’s the ability to command the attention of others. The Connecticut Health Foundation (CT Health) Class of 2012 Health Leadership Fellows discussed this topic in our March meeting. In this video, Fernando Marroquin-Saavedra and Daileann Hemmings discuss the best thing they learned about leadership presence and how they can best cultivate it.

I’m (Jenn) a member of the Class of 2012, and what I learned that surprised me was the idea that you can’t lead without bringing something personal to the table – that’s what inspires others. Fernando and Daileann had different answers. What questions would you have for them about how to cultivate leadership presence?

Thanks Daileann, Fernando, and Jenn. Great video! In my estimation, leadership presence needs to be understood by more leaders of color. It’s an often invisible success factor (or barrier) to leading others. Presence is how OTHERS experience your leadership.

    Great reflections Fernando and Daileann!
