Description

New Haven children and families face risk factors (i.e., poverty, abuse, neglect, violence) that create chronic “toxic stress” that can damage the brain as it develops. Addressing these issues at an early age dramatically improves a child’s life trajectory.

The Connecticut Health Foundation’s grant will support the  development of a plan to institute a service for families exposed to chronic, toxic stress by integrating primary care, mental health and other services.
