FOUNDATION ELECTS MANAGED CARE EXECUTIVE TO ITS BOARD OF DIRECTORS Former Public Policy Panel Member To Bring Valuable Knowledge And Experience In Medical And Quality Health Care Management NEW BRITAIN – Tina Brown-Stevenson, President of Aetna Integrated Informatics, has been appointed to a three-year term on the Connecticut Health Foundation (CT Health) Board of Directors, Chair Leo Canty announced during a June Board meeting.The managed care executive is responsible for researching and developing sophisticated clinical and financial information products and services at Aetna’s data information and analytics subsidiary. “We are pleased that Tina, who served on CT Health’s Policy Panel on Racial and Ethnic Health Disparities, will continue her work with us as a member of our Board.She brings valuable experience and a passion for using data to inform and enrich CT Health’s continuing strategies to improve the health status of residents of Connecticut,” said Canty, adding that Brown-Stevenson will serve from June 2006 to July 2009. Prior to joining Aetna in 2001, Brown-Stevenson has held several positions including:Vice President of Health Care Economics at CIGNA Healthcare; Vice President of Health System Development at Partners in Healthcare System in Boston, and Vice President for Medical Management of United Healthcare’s New England region. Ms. Brown-Stevenson, also a guest lecturer on managed care and applied health services research at prestigious organizations such as Columbia University, University of Michigan and the National Business Group on Health, holds an M.A. in health care administration from Framingham State College and a B.S. in nursing from the University of Massachusetts, and is co-author of a study published in the American Journal of Rheumatology. “I am excited about being a part of the Foundation’s work again, and look forward to offering my experience to the Foundation as they continue their work on impacting systems change,” said Brown-Stevenson.
