VIDEO: For Christina, the Affordable Care Act Means Coverage and Peace of Mind

ChristinaThanks to the Affordable Care Act (ACA), Christina was able to get health coverage so affordable, she was able to save enough money to put a down payment on a new home.

Christina is a self-described micro-business owner working out of Bridgeport, CT. When her COBRA-sponsored coverage was about to run out, she applied for other coverage only to be denied for having what the carrier deemed to be pre-existing conditions. And that was before her doctor told her she had a suspicious mammogram finding.

With two weeks of coverage to spare, Christina either had to choose being in the state’s high risk pool*, or wait six months for Access Health CT (AHCT) open.

Watch this video to hear how the ACA meant Christina was able to keep the doors to her business open. And then, share this video with your friends who are on the fence about enrolling in health insurance. They can enroll in an AHCT plan now through February 15, 2015. It’s time to #GetCovered.
