VIDEO: What Will the State Innovation Model Mean for You?
The Connecticut Health Foundation (CT Health) was pleased to learn the Center for Medicaid and Medicare Innovation (CMMI) awarded Connecticut $45 million for the State Innovation Model (SIM) test grant. The final plan will change how health care is delivered and paid for for 80 percent of Connecticut residents.
CT Health has been involved in the SIM process, which began in March 2013, because of our commitment to advancing health equity through the Affordable Care Act (ACA) which is also critical to transforming health care. Connecticut’s application had a strong health equity component, because, in the words of CT Health president & CEO Patricia Baker, “we’re only as healthy as our most vulnerable residents.”
Patricia, who is on the Health Innovation Steering Committee for the SIM initiative, shares her perspective.
