This organization is a recipient of the Trusted Messengers to Support Health Coverage grant and will share important information about health care coverage with their communities. The messaging activities are related to two major changes in health care coverage taking place this year: HUSKY redeterminations and new HUSKY coverage for children under age 13 regardless of immigration status.
GBAPP will employ a community ambassador to build awareness about the expansion of HUSKY benefits and the end of continuous Medicaid coverage. This ambassador will use GBAPP’s social media platforms and the GBAPP Live radio show to spread messages broadly. In addition, the organization will organize town halls and collaborate with local influencers to target the communities that will be most affected by coverage changes. GBAPP anticipates reaching over 4,000 people through outreach efforts. This effort builds upon successful strategies GBAPP employed as a trusted messenger about COVID-19 and vaccines.
