This organization is a recipient of the Trusted Messengers to Support Health Coverage grant and will share important information about health care coverage with their communities. The messaging activities are related to two major changes in health care coverage taking place this year: HUSKY redeterminations and new HUSKY coverage for children under age 13 regardless of immigration status.
A grassroots organization, Madre Latina connects Latinos in Waterbury to resources. They will use their “Health on Wheels” model to connect Spanish speaking residents with information on both health care coverage topics. Work will include community meetings, outreach at Latino churches, connecting with social service providers, and a texting campaign.
