Shareable graphics: Medicaid (AKA HUSKY) messages to stay covered

It’s easy to get overwhelmed by how much information there is out there about changes in health care.

As you’ve probably heard, the new federal law, HR1, also known as the “big beautiful bill act,” will make a lot of changes to Medicaid. Most of those take place beginning in 2026.

For now, there are two important messages for people covered by Medicaid:

HUSKY is Medicaid in Connecticut: In our state, Medicaid is known as HUSKY. It’s important that people know that changes to Medicaid mean changes to HUSKY.

The best step to take now is to keep your information updated with DSS: The Connecticut Department of Social Services (DSS) handles eligibility for Medicaid (AKA HUSKY). To stay informed, it’s important that they can reach you. If you’re covered by HUSKY, log into your DSS account and make sure your contact information is correct.

>>> You can visit connect.ct.gov or (for a mobile-friendly app) myDSS.ct.gov.

Here are some shareable graphics and flyers that you can use to spread the word (in English and Spanish). Please download them and share them as you see fit. If you have questions, please let us know: communications@cthealth.org.
