Connecticut Health Foundation statement on increased ICE activity in Connecticut

Fear, trauma, family separation, and uncertainty about safety can all have profound effects on people’s health and well-being. We recognize these things can also make it harder for people to seek out the care and support they need to stay healthy.

Consequently, we are deeply concerned about increased Immigration and Customs Enforcement activity in our state.

These actions have created fear across Connecticut, and as an organization focused on health equity for people of color, we recognize how significant of an impact that can have on people’s health.

Many of our partners have been helping to coordinate resources and assistance for those who have been affected by these actions. We are grateful for their work and the trusted relationships they have built with their communities.

The Connecticut Immigrant Support Network has compiled several resources, including immediate detention assistance, which can be found here: https://ctimmigrants.base44.app/

We remain committed to supporting the organizations working to ensure that everyone, regardless of immigration status, can access the care they need.
