This organization is a recipient of the Trusted Messengers to Support Health Coverage grant and will share important information about health care coverage with their communities. The messaging activities are related to two major changes in health care coverage taking place this year: HUSKY redeterminations and new HUSKY coverage for children under age 13 regardless of immigration status.
B1C will focus outreach to immigrant families with children under 13 who may qualify for HUSKY insurance. An immigrant advocacy organization, B1C has strong ties to individuals from Central and South America, and in recent years has created connections with area residents who recently arrived from Ukraine, Haiti, Bangladesh, Syria, and Afghanistan. Outreach will include 1:1 meetings, phone calls, texts and WhatsApp message notifications, flyer distributions, and direct outreach at churches, nonprofits, and businesses.
