Children's Mental Health

Manchester Youth Service Bureau

2011 - $137,186

Manchester is one of four pilot communities involved in the Connecticut Health Foundation’s five-year children’s mental health initiative to create community-based systems of secondary prevention.

Each community has designed their pilot site to fit the particular needs of their community. The Manchester community involves the education system and the Youth Service Bureau. In its second year of implementation the pilot created linkages with other community organizations and expanded into another school, as well as the Office for Neighborhood and Families. In this third year of funding, the Manchester community will formalize these linkages via written agreements, and will increase parent participation.
