In order for the Affordable Care Act (ACA) to succeed in its goal of making health care more affordable, a significant number of young and healthy adults must enroll into a qualified health plan. In a previous grant from the foundation, Planned Parenthood of Southern New England (PPSNE) successfully enrolled 4,000 women and men throughout the state in the Medicaid Family Planning Expansion. Of those enrolled, 40 percent were people of color.
PPSNE will use lessons learned from the original grant to help enroll more young people, particularly those of color.
