To improve the oral health of low-income pregnant women, the Connecticut Health Foundation (CT Health) issued a request for proposals to develop an institutionalized system of care that addressed this need. The University of Connecticut Health Center proposed an educational approach that will equip future health care professionals to promote good oral health care to pregnant women.
The University of Connecticut Health Center will develop online modules for dental, medical, pharmacy, social work, nursing and dental hygiene students at all education levels, with an emphasis on interdisciplinary interactions to connect pregnant women to oral health care.
