Thomas has served in finance, planning, and analysis roles at companies including Prudential Finance, Cogstate, Time Warner, Subway Restaurants, and PreciBake. He has also worked as a consultant and investment banker. Thomas is a graduate of Amherst College and has an MBA from Columbia Business School and a master’s degree in accounting from the University of Hartford.

“A few years ago, my wife was very ill. Fortunately, we had access to world class health care that saved her life. That experience, combined with the suffering and disruption caused by the COVID-19 global pandemic, really impacted me. I decided to do something meaningful for the next phase of my career and to use my expertise to make a difference in the world,” Thomas said. “I am thrilled to be part of an organization dedicated to improving the health of Connecticut residents.”

Thomas will serve as the foundation’s primary liaison on asset management and finance and will lead the accounting, personnel, and technology functions, as well as office operations for the foundation.

“We are thrilled that Todd will be joining our team. He brings to the foundation exceptional expertise in finance and investments, as well as a strong commitment to health equity,” said Tiffany Donelson, president and CEO of the Connecticut Health Foundation.

Thomas joins the foundation March 22 and will work with Pollack through July. After that, Pollack will serve as an advisor and consultant to the foundation through the end of the year to ensure a seamless transition.

“Carol has played a central role in the foundation from its earliest years, influencing almost every aspect of our work and organization,” Donelson said. “We will miss her tremendously and wish her well in her well-deserved retirement.”

“I am very proud of and grateful for my time at CT Health,” Pollack said. “It has been a unique opportunity to have challenging work that contributed to a mission as important as health equity, and I am proud of the impact the foundation has had in Connecticut over the past 20 years. I look forward to passing on this work to Todd’s committed and capable hands.”
