The Center for Children’s Advocacy provides legal services to Connecticut’s most vulnerable children, and fights for their right to equitable access to health, mental health, and special education services. Their direct service client representation has informed a systems-change agenda. Two year grant.
This grant will provide general operating support to achieve several objectives, including leadership and participation on a Department of Social Services task force to establish a Medicaid reimbursement system to encourage pediatric providers to incorporate mental health screening as part of well visits, and advocacy for policies that ensure children unmet mental health needs in the care of the Department of Children and Families are identified and connected interventions.
