This organization is a recipient of the Trusted Messengers to Support Health Coverage grant and will share important information about health care coverage with their communities. The messaging activities are related to two major changes in health care coverage taking place this year: HUSKY redeterminations and new HUSKY coverage for children under age 13 regardless of immigration status.
This grassroots organization will collaborate with Danbury public Schools to reach parents and guardians of children who may qualify for expanded HUSKY coverage. The group has built strong relationships with families through a food relief program that was started during COVID. Additional outreach will take place through the Tribuna Newspaper, which has 15,000 readers.
