The Connecticut Office of Health Reform & Innovation oversees Connecticut’s implementation of federal health reform through coordination and work with the many stakeholders responsible for different parts of the health care system.
This grant will support a health equity learning collaborative which will provide training and education to the Health Care Cabinet and the Health Insurance Exchange Board on racial and ethnic health disparities. This learning collaborative will help policy-makers share challenges and successes, as well as best practices and new ideas, with other states striving to achieve health equity during the implementation of federal health care reform. This grant will also support research and planning for an All-Payer Claims Database, which will collect patient and provider demographics, as well as utilization data. This will allow for the analysis of data to drive down costs, improve health, and promote access.
