The mission of Connecticut Public Broadcasting is to add value to people’s lives through programs and services that inform, educate, entertain, and inspire our audiences in Connecticut and beyond.
In 2012, WNPR (National Public Radio in Connecticut) launched the Health Equity Reporting initiative (HERI) to make the general public aware of the existing disparities and begin a dialogue that will lead to solutions for this critical problem.
In 2014, WNPR will expand on this work by airing 18 in-depth feature stories that examine racial and ethnic health disparities, and holding one Where We Live community event. By the end of this second grant period, WNPR will have highlighted health equity for three years, reaching millions of Connecticut residents through approximately 36 stories and programs.
