Health Equity

Connecticut Public Broadcasting

2012 - $50,000

A profile of NPR (National Public Radio) listeners lists them as three times more likely than the average radio listener to have been an active member of any group that tries to influence public policy. To leverage that audience, WNPR’s Public Will Project will air 12 in-depth feature stories that examine the issue of racial and ethnic health disparities from a variety of perspectives, including community, business, education, and health care, as well as hold four live Where We Live events. Both activities will focus on building awareness and public will for health equity by engaging policy-makers, the public, and members of the health and medical communities. 18 month grant.
